As a teaching artist, I empower my students to freely explore and express complex ideas through examining and making art, recognizing its power as catalyst for personal and societal transformation. I design and instruct classes that are inspired by and respond to art and artists from across cultures and time. In the studio, I encourage my students to see art in new and exciting ways as well as learn artistic techniques, processes, and methods to create their own art with traditional and new materials. My students’ artworks have been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, Lewis H. Latimer House Museum, and Queens Museum.
