Philippine Textile Lab

Philippine Textile Lab: tracing indigenous, contemporary, and global textile traditions and intersections is a multi-disciplinary exploration using research, curatorial, education, and archiving practices to excavate, decolonize, archive, and engage with indigenous Philippine textiles and textile-making practices.

 

The project encompasses: 

  • Publication of Textiles of the Philippines resource book

  • Interactive and intergenerational education programs and materials

  • Speaking and presentation engagements and dialogues

  • Community weaving demonstrations and public presentations

  • A library of resources and text on Filipinx and global weaving and textile practices

  • Immersive installations exploring the intersections between indigenous, contemporary, and global textile traditions
